Discover the real reason you’re depleted & stop the guessing game
Measure your burnout, understand your triggers, and finally get clarity on how your environment is affecting your work, health, and sanity.
Any of these
sound like you?
You’re miserable, but you can’t lose income, sacrifice your reputation, or risk your stability just because you’re “burned out.” It might not be sustainable, but right now, you simply can’t afford to slow down.
You’ve been craving a new start, but every time you even hint at trying a different career or “finding yourself,” you’re hit with backlash from family, friends and co-workers who push back against any mention of change.
You’re exhausted all the time, but there’s constant pressure to suck it up, stop being weak, and never be lazy. You might have even been raised to believe that endurance, overwork, and sacrifice are admirable, which means giving up isn’t an option.
You don’t have the luxury of time, so your health keeps getting pushed to the back burner while you chase quick hacks and temporary fixes — never really addressing the problem, just coping with food, alcohol, or worse.
You’ve been procrastinating this whole burnout thing because, while you want to have more control over your life, you’d ALSO rather dig ditches with a spoon than:
Go to a yoga or meditation class
Talk to a mental health expert or life coach
Read another self-help book
Stick to some wacky (and crazy expensive) diet
Do a cold plunge
Go to a burnout retreat with your co-workers
Work even harder than you already do
What if everyone else is doing burnout wrong?
For the ancient Egyptians, it was called Ka—the vital life force and invisible energy that gave humans strength, creative power, and insight. For the ancient Romans, it was Genius, a gift assigned to each person at birth that served as an energetic bridge between their talents and a divine calling. For the early Christians, it was an aspect of the Holy Ghost, or divinely fueled action imagined as a tongue of fire hovering above your head.
No matter the name, for most of human history, we have believed that each individual possesses a sacred flame, a personal piece of the original cosmic fire, that they must host, feed, and nurture. But should that flame not be tended, burnout is the result.
So when did we stop tending our inner hearths? When did the burnout begin?
We can trace it back to the 1840s, when Horace Mann, inspired by a visit to Prussia, began a movement to start “Common Schools” across the U.S. in the hopes of creating a disciplined, moral, and uniform citizenry. By the end of that century, this military system had married the Industrial Revolution, producing bell schedules, desk rows, standardized routines, and clear hierarchies meant to prepare students for the factories.
Next came the multiple-choice test, invented in 1914 to speed up grading for the masses. Once again, efficiency, standardization, and cost-cutting were encouraged, along with obedience and conformity. By the 1930s, standardized testing had become the norm, and even today, there’s often no room for Genius, just an industrial mindset meant to produce compliant workers.
It’s this same system that pressures us all to follow orders without question, never challenge authority or existing processes, operate on rigid schedules, memorize and repeat information, stay silent unless you’re called upon, and trust that your boss knows best. You’re expected to fit into predefined molds so that you can be interchangeable with others, and anything outside of that mold is viewed as a mistake—and mistakes must be avoided at all costs.
The truth is, our education system was never built to protect your inner fire. As a result, neither are most jobs. That’s why innovators, creatives, and big thinkers like yourself struggle in these environments. If you’re reading this, you were designed to create opportunities, solve problems in original ways, adapt to constant change, and challenge assumptions. And when you’re in an environment that sees these traits as the enemy, you get burned out. Your sacred flame, the one the ancients revered, fades.
We studied this effect on innovation, energy, and happiness across 100 million burned-out professionals, and we discovered that human beings are not interchangeable widgets, contrary to what HR might have you believe. Instead, we all have invisible qualities that make us completely unique, revolving around a kaleidoscope of hard & soft skills, seven mindsets, five dysfunctions, and about 40 different personality traits. And while we may not be able to measure your Genius, we can measure your burnout—and tell you what your unique psychological profile requires for success.
But unlike most burnout programs, we don’t include yoga, meditation, affirmations, or blaming the patriarchy. Instead, we help you understand yourself more clearly—and take pride in the fact that you’re not (and never have been) “Industry Standard.”
INTRODUCING
Your Personal
Burnout Report
Get clarity on your value—and how to protect it.
This report has three goals:
Measure your burnout (and your progress).
Using our proprietary technology, we can actually measure your burnout and determine how your personal situation compares to others in the country. This gives you a tool no one else can offer, and a way to make an invisible problem finally feel real. Is your burnout low, moderate, high or critical? Are you in the 79th percentile and outperforming your peers even when it comes to exhaustion? We can give you those answers and more while providing a benchmark for future measurement.
Understand your unique mindset psychology.
Consider this your hidden “operating system” that’s completely unique to you. Are you Results-Oriented? Empathetic? A Systems Thinker? A combination of all three? Now’s the time for answers, including a clear breakdown of what gives you energy, steals it, or puts you on the struggle bus. And BONUS! You’ll also receive a detailed description of your personal psychology that highlights your key strengths, potential challenges, and how to avoid burnout in the future.
Get clear on your triggers—and who you shouldn’t be working with.
Real talk: not everyone is a good fit for you. We’ll help you understand the mindsets that cause you the most grief, the traits that you should avoid, and the way your unique psychology responds to being manipulated, bulldozed, or bored into submission at work. Then we’ll walk you through how your environment is affecting your behavior, whether it’s making you passive aggressive, unbelievably moody, or in constant state of anxiety. Finally, we’ll map out your burnout triggers, so you know what to avoid (and who).

What’s inside your super sleek, high-tech Personal Burnout Report?
Here’s what you’re getting:
✅ Overall Burnout Status
Includes:
Your personal burnout level
Your percentile score
A comprehensive breakdown of what your burnout score really means
✅ Your Psychological Contributors & Levels of Friction
Here’s some examples from an actual report:
“The Worry Wire” (Medium): You’re future-mapping constantly. This isn’t worry—it’s contingency planning. The problem? You’re the only one doing it, which turns strategic foresight into emotional burnout.
“Heart on the Frequency” (High): Your empathy is working overtime. This isn’t soft. It’s survival. You can feel when a room is off, when a system is emotionally dishonest—and you often step in to fix it. That gift becomes a burden when there’s no one to fix you.
“Stormwatch” (High): You aren’t anxious for no reason—you’re attuned. Your Results radar picks up on failure patterns, cultural rot, or mission drift. High stormwatch means you see the cracks no one wants to name, and that kind of awareness without support? Exhausting.
“Body Check Engine Light” (High): Your system is physically alert. Your Results drive lets you override pain, fatigue, even illness—but the engine lights are on. This is the kind of signal that precedes collapse unless something changes fast.
✅ Personal Mindset & Psychological Profile
This includes:
Your center of gravity mindset (e.g., Results) as well as your leading edge (e.g., Systems)
Your key strengths, potential hiccups, and how you cope with stress

Transforming the Business of You
Amber Hargroder
Founder & Burnout Expert
Christopher Skinner
Co-Founder & Inventor
For decades, my co-founder and I have been in the business of transformation. He’s been focused on disruptive innovation, culminating in the invention of his proprietary technology, while I have been focused on the individual—their needs, wants, emotions, and purpose. Together, we understand both sides of the coin when it comes to burnout: organizational dysfunction and suffering on a more personal level. And, unlike other burnout experts, we firmly believe that both must be addressed if you’re ever going to truly recover.
Why? Because burnout is merely a symptom of being in the wrong environment—while not fully understanding yourself.
I’ve personally experienced the truth of this, as I’ve been burned out in just about every way a person can be. That’s what inspired me to depart from my background in business consulting to study human health from both a historical, if not traditional, sense as well as a hyper-modern one. Yet all of that education led me right back to business, further clarifying that we are only as healthy as our environment.
And as someone who has invested an enormous amount of time and energy in the healing space, I say with confidence that if you truly want to heal, recover, and feel decades younger than you currently do—you have to fix the dysfunction first. That means respecting your own efforts as you would a business, because the most important client you’ll ever have, no matter where you work, will always be yourself.
There’s a saying in the startup world that “whoever learns the fastest wins.” With this Personalized Burnout Report, you will learn more about yourself faster than ever before, gaining a much deeper awareness of who you are, what you need, and why your current situation is burning you out. From there, you can make the necessary decisions to transform your life and health for the better.
We’re here to help you get started.

Let’s say you venture to our home turf in New Orleans and decide to take a walk in the French Quarter. Soon you’ll discover dozens of colorful tables set up by fortune tellers, with jugglers, stilt walkers, and frozen statues in-between. Choose to sit down and you’ll experience a reading: of your gestures, your movements, your energy, and your tone. Before long, you’ll be given an assessment of your personality that’s just as clever as the panhandler who tells you “where you got them shoes.” You’ll likely be amazed by the accuracy, more or less. “That’s me!” Your friends might even agree, laughing at how you’re getting called out for your quirks.
Myers Briggs is similar. So is Enneagram, Human Design, and DiSC.
It can feel so accurate; but is it? And for how long?
We all want to see ourselves in a certain light. Maybe we want to be more like Jamie Dimon, or Elon Musk, or someone else. We want to see ourselves as innovative and creative, or steadfast and reliable. And just as it’s easy to be fooled in the French Quarter, it can be even easier to fool ourselves, especially if our personality traits are being measured through self-evaluation. That’s why we’re often blind to who we actually are and how we make decisions. We also have a tendency to oversimplify extremely complex systems, which doesn’t help.
As for our tools, most of psychology is built on theory and very limited data. Moreover, these theories and their personality assessments are often built on biased systems. That’s why these ideas sound great when applied to a few hundred or even a few thousand people; but, once you apply it to millions of people using search engine technology (as we did), the whole thing falls apart.
Turns out, whether we’re at a famous academic institution or dodging street gravy in the Quarter, we all want to confirm our innate bias.
For example, the hit book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck PhD attempts to break down mindset theory into two buckets. In this 2006 bestseller, boasting nearly 22,000 reviews with a 4.6 rating on Amazon, you either have a fixed mindset or a growth one. And after you complete a self-guided evaluation, this book offers to transform the way you think forever.
Here’s the problem: who wants to be labeled with a fixed mindset? No one. That sounds terrible. Almost everyone wants to be labeled as growth-oriented, as someone who can see the bigger picture, seek out a higher purpose, and pursue their long-term goals. No one wants to be viewed as lacking in creativity or holistic thinking. But even if you are fixed, is it possible to change as this book suggests? What if you read it 10 times? 1,000 times? Can you actually change the way you think?
After reviewing the mindset data of hundreds of millions of people…not really. You might improve, sure; but if the most Narcissistic, Obstructionist, or Opportunistic person read this book, would they suddenly transform into a Systems Thinker capable of generating growth for their organization? Absolutely not. Not even if they listened to thousands of podcasts and read dozens of books on the topic.
So, in summary, we measure mindset remotely to reveal who you really are, while simultaneously preventing the bias subconsciously infused into these other programs. We can also tell you more about the path your heading, rather than provide a glimpse of a “personality” based on a biased survey—which doesn’t believe change is possible.
We therefore provide a far more holistic view into who you are, where you excel, and how you can advance in time. And we do it without a multiple-choice test, biased interview, or lengthy process. In return, you get
faster results that are far more accurate. -
If you’d like to discuss your results, we do offer 1:1 consults at $195/hr. Simply send us an email at amber@outofthebrine.com to schedule. Otherwise, if you absolutely hate your results and want a refund, we can do that too.
